Socialization of the Economic Growth of Semarang Regency in 2024

Head of the BPS-Statistics Semarang Regency, Dewi Trirahayuni, S.Si., M.Si delivered a keynote speech about the importance of the quarterly PDRB calculation that provides a picture of the faster economic conditions, followed by the release of the Semarang Regency Economic Growth figure of the second quarter of 2024, which reached 4.96 percent. Semarang Regency is among the top 6 contributors to the Jawa Tengah economy with a contribution of 3.66 percent.

Plt. Regent of Semarang, represented by Muhamad Muslih, SE, MM as the Head of Bapperida of Semarang Regency, expressed appreciation for the completion of the drafting of the PDRB for the quarterly period at the district level, which is certainly a support for the Semarang Regency Government in preparing a faster and up to date policy. All OPDs, institutions, government and private entities, as well as all business owners who contribute to the economy of Semarang Regency are encouraged to support the process of preparing the quarterly PDRB by providing the right and real time data.

The event was continued with the presentation of the material of the Leading Sector Mapping with the Location Quotient and Updating Approach of the Semarang Regency Input Table of Output 2023, which was delivered by Saiful Adhi Saputra, S. Si, ME as the Statistisi of the Young Expert of BPS Semarang Regency. Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries and the Large and Retail Trade Sector, Motor and Car Reparation became the leading sectors in Semarang Regency. With the increase of the superior sector, it is expected to reduce income inequality in Semarang Regency.

With quarterly economic growth, the local government can strategize faster and more accurately to encourage sustainable and inclusive economic growth in the future to achieve better development results.
