Ungaran, December 18, 2024 – The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Semarang Regency held a Focus Group Discussion on the Economy of Semarang Regency 2024. This event took place in the Dharma Satya Room, Semarang Regency Regional Secretariat.
In this forum, the Head of BPS Semarang Regency, Dewi Trirahayuni explained the achievements of Economic Growth in the Third Quarter of 2024 and the Human Development Index in 2024 in Semarang Regency. She explained that this data provides a comprehensive picture of the regional economic conditions,
“This economic growth and HDI data is an important basis for the government in formulating more targeted and effective policies. Strengthening the productive sector, increasing access to education, and health services must be the main priorities,” said Dewi Trirahayuni.
This discussion also presented Prof. Firmansyah, Professor of Economics at Diponegoro University, as the second resource person. In his presentation, he highlighted the importance of improving the quality of Human Resources (HR) as one of the main keys to driving regional economic competitiveness.
Prof. Firmansyah said that collaboration between the public and private sectors is essential to create quality jobs and encourage sustainable investment. Without competent human resources, the potential of the regional economy is difficult to develop optimally.
As a form of appreciation, BPS Semarang Regency gave awards to the best respondents who have actively supported statistics in Semarang Regency. This award is a form of gratitude for their contribution in presenting accurate and credible data.
This forum is expected to be the starting point for closer synergy between the government, academics, and business actors to answer the economic challenges of Semarang Regency. Through quality data and close collaboration, it is hoped that policies will be created that can improve the welfare of society as a whole.
