Development of the Consumer Price Index for Central Java Province April 2024

Abstract

In April 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Central Java Province will be 3.27 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.67. The highest inflation occurred in Rembang Regency at 4.87 percent with a CPI of 109.37 and the lowest occurred in Purwokerto at 2.82 percent with a CPI of 105.82.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 8.20 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.44 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.29 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.91 percent; health group by 1.77 percent; transportation group by 1.25 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 1.19 percent; education group at 1.92 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 2.42 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 3.75 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were: information, communication and financial services groups by 0.53 percent.
The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate for Central Java Province in April 2024 is 0.20 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate is 1.29 percent.
