Abstract

In July 2022, Central Java experienced inflation of 0.51 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 111.89. Of the six CPI cities in Central Java, all cities experienced inflation.
The main cause of inflation in Central Java in July 2022 is the increase in prices for red chili, shallots, air transportation, filtered kretek cigarettes, and broiler chicken. The main driver of inflation in Central Java is the decline in the prices of cooking oil, garlic, elementary schools, gold, jewelry and rice.
The inflation rate for the calendar year July 2022 is 4.28 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (July 2022 to July 2021) is 5.45 percent.
