June 2021 Jawa Tengah Experiencing Deflation -0.17 percent

Abstract

In June 2021, Jawa Tengah experienced deflation of -0.17 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.05. Of the six CPI cities in Jawa Tengah, all cities experienced deflation.
The main cause of deflation in Jawa Tengah in June 2021 is the decline in prices for broiler chicken, red chili, cayenne pepper, cellular phones and coconut. The main barrier to deflation in Jawa Tengah is the increase in the price of cars, broiler eggs, gold jewelry, non-foreman craftsmen, and filtered kretek cigarettes.
The inflation rate for the calendar year in June 2021 is 0.51 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (June 2021 against June 2020) is 1.25 percent.
